In a groundbreaking move, East African countries have today unanimously endorsed Raila Odinga, Kenya's former Prime Minister, as their candidate for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship. This endorsement represents a significant milestone in Odinga's bid to lead the continental body.
The East African region, comprising of countries like - Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania,DRC and Uganda - has thrown its weight behind Odinga's candidacy.
